WOODWARD REGIONAL HOSPITAL EARNS AN EXCLLENCE THROUGH INSIGHT AWARD
FOR OVERALL MOST IMPROVED PATIENT SATISFACTION
Woodward Regional Hospital (WRH) was recently recognized with an Excellence through Insight award for “Overall Inpatient (HCAHPS) Satisfaction in the Most Improved category” by HealthStream Research, the research business group of HealthStream, Inc. (NASDAQ: HSTM).
Woodward Regional Hospital was awarded this honor for its commitment to excellence in patient care. WRH was chosen for receiving the highest ratings in the above category from among HealthStream Research’s clients, as well as exceeding industry standards. To qualify for an award, a hospital must have been a patient satisfaction-tracking client of HealthStream Research in 2009, scored in the 75th percentile or higher, and surveyed a minimum of 100 patients.
“Our continuing success in improving patient satisfaction is because of our employees. Whether they provide direct care or support those who do, employees consistently show compassion and concern for the patients and their families” said Steve Owens, Chief Nursing Officer at WRH. “We focus on initiatives like staff training to improve patient interactions, with everything from introductions and explanations, to making sure every inpatient is visited each hour. Our goal is for Woodward Regional to be a great place for patients to receive care, and it’s good to know that our patients recognize and appreciate the care our improvements,” he said. “The credit goes to our employees, volunteers and the physicians who provide outstanding care and service every day.”
